1. Beaches
Head for Horseshoe Bay, Rose Bay, Kings and Queens Beach for unique beauty, snorkelling and walking tracks to panoramic views.
2. In Town
Drive up to Flagstaff Hill for refreshments and great views, picnic at Mullers Lagoon for its lush birdlife, and wander through the waterfront precinct. The water park is right there so the kids can have fun too.
3. Murals
Check out the famous 22 murals around town including one by Ken Done. Get directions from the info centre.
4. Stay longer
Bowen is far from the bustle and so relaxing you might want more of the same the next day, so stay over in town or at the beaches. There’s a local cinema and plenty of yummy food for dinner.

Bowen, 45 minute drive north, has beautiful non-tidal beaches and snorkelling right off the beach to see fringing coral reefs, swim in clear water, take beach and cliff walks with amazing views and explore rock pools to fascinate the kids.

Wander through the waterfront precinct, make a splash at the water park or enjoy nine holes of golf with a view. Bowen’s famous prince of mangoes, ‘Kensington Pride’, is in season from December to February. The Big Mango at the southern end of town on the highway has yummy
mango sorbet and an information centre.
